Kuba Gollu Chihi rug in an ivory ground

Code: KUGC022O

Age: ~70 years old

Size
: 140x220cm

Size (ft): 4'7"x7'2"

Structure: wool pile, ivory wool warps and cotton wefts.

Knots: Gördes (Turkish, symmetrical)

Condition: very good

Design:  The ivory field with five radiating angular floral medallions ("St. Andrew's cross") surrounded by small floral motifs. Tbe border, comprising ivory coloured serrated "wine cups" separated by hooked figures (garmagly) on a black ground, is a variant on the "leaf and wine cup" pattern.
