The death of Farud (Jarireh tearing her robes in anguish over her son, Faridun - Jarira's attendants bring Farud to a couch and lie him down, but he is past recovery. In his dying breaths, he says they are right to mourn, and advises them to throw themselves from the battlements to deny Bizhan the pleasure of victory. He dies blaming Bizhan for his untimely death)
