Double niche antique Zakatala rug, North Azerbaijan, 19th century. Published in Hali Magazine, Issue 78


Hali Magazine notes: A Zakatala district long rug of the 'fine' type with a "Sewan" style medallion, three additional panels at the top, and an extraordinary border lavout. The dyes used in this piece include a fugitive fuchsine, which would dale the rug quite precisely to the last quarter of the 19th century.
