A fine antique Shirvan rug
the indigo fild with hooked lozenges, jewellery motifs and animals around shaped hooked panel containing similar motifs enclosing three brick-red and blue bold hooked octagons, in an ivory border of stylised palmettes and angular vine between floral octagon stripes, outer barber-pole and reciprocal skittle-pattern stripes, slightly corroded black --191cm. x 132cm.(6ft.3in. x 4ft.4in.)
