Antique "Zejwa" rug, Northern Kuba or southern Dagthestan, North East Azerbaijan, Nazmiyal Collection, 8' x 13'. This is the only "Zejwa" example with seven medallions that I have seen so far.

A series of geometric medallions in ivory and red repeats across a dark blue ground. Within each of these is a smaller quatrefoil medallion spewing forth branches or vines rendered as latchhooks, with smaller stylized animals scattered across the remaining space. A series of borders enclose the field – first an S-Dragon border, then a stylized vinescroll, and finally a double vinescroll or 'crab" border.
