Antique Kuba Perepedil rug, 1900s, Southern Hillside Kuba Region, Devechi-Shabran District, North East Azerbaijan.

Perepedil A red-ground Perepedil with the characteristic "vurma" design, symmetrically arranged in mirror image on either side of a row of star-shaped blossoms placed along the central axis. As usual in these finely woven East Caucasian rugs, the border is executed in great detail, here with the typical kufi strapwork design and rosettes in white on a midnight blue ground. – Very well preserved, original finishes all around.
