NORTH WEST PERSIA, CIRCA 1880
The ivory field with palmettes issuing angular flowering and leafy vine
around a central shaded green-blue panel containing a shaded pale pink
flatenned medallion issuing palmettes enclosing a rosette centrepiece,
pale pink spandrels similar, in a shaded brick-red border of
turtle-palmettes and angular vine meander between shaded blue rosette
meander stripes, outer stripes rewoven at each end, slight wear
11ft.7in. x 8ft.7in. (352cm. x 260cm.)
