Guba-Shirvan Group: Guba Sub-Group: Herat Pirabadil Origin Country: AZERBAIJAN, Pirabadil (Davachi) General/Historical Information: The name of Herat Pirabadil rugs that belong to Guba Group of Azerbaijan Carpets, related with the village “Pirabadil” that located 15 km to east of Guba City. Carpet specialists named this carpet "Herati", but it has been known with the name "Uruseat" among carpet makers. Because this carpet was appreciated by Russian people and was always demanded by Russian market. Historically
this carpet firstly made in Herat, Afghanistan. In the beginning it was
spread among carpet weaving districts in South Azerbaijan, and later in
North Azerbaijan (today's Azerbaijan Republic). In Karabagh it was well
known with the name "Balyq" that means "fish". Pile:
