Simon Marmion
Simon Marmion was a Flemish
artist who was born in 1425.Simon Marmion has had several gallery and museum
exhibitions, including at the The Metropolitan Museum of Art and at the Museo
Thyssen-Bornemisza. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction,
including 'FEMALE DONOR WITH SAINT ELIZABETH OF HUNGARY: THE RIGHT WING OF A
TRIPTYCH' sold at Sotheby's New York 'Important Old Master Paintings and
Sculpture' in 2010 for $266,500. There have been Several articles about Simon
Marmion, including 'Art Review; Accessing Outernet: Medieval Software' written
by Holland Cotter for New York Times in 1997. The artist died in 1489.
