East Caucasus, 2nd half of the 19th century, approx. 150 x 115 cm, these
carpets from the Shirvan district are among the finest and now rarest works
from the Caucasus, nearly square prayer rug with blue ground, typical
Marasali prayer niche (bird-like form) and scattered figural pattern,
partially low pile, ends only marginally preserved, edge damages
