This is the design which Schurmann considers to be 'typical' of Chichi
rugs. The inner white ground guard, with its polychrome floral stars, is a
very pleasing feature of this piece. Note the greenish tonality of the
guards flanking the main border. Altogether a
delightful rug, although the handling of the main borders at the bottom
end is a little crude - normally a somewhat more fluid turn is achieved.
