An interesting piece, having an orange field with yellow abrash at the lower end...this piece also is of the type called 'Khirdagyd-Chichi'. It is noticeable that rugs of this group have a wide variety of border compositions; a prayer rug, also with Kufic borders, was on the United States art market in 1979 and is illustrated in Hali (vol . 2, no. 1, p. 77). This latter rug has a blue-green abrashed field and light blue-green borders; it is dated 1295 A.H. (A.D. 1878). Like the present rug, it was quite finely woven and with a displaced warp. Second half 19th century. 184 x 135 cm
