A FRAGMENTARY WHITE GROUND STAR KAZAK RUG
SOUTH CAUCASUS, CIRCA 1870
Lot 273 - The ivory field with a central brick-red hooked panel flanked by shaded aubergine arrowhead panels enclosed within a combination of irregular mid-blue hooked panels and part indigo stellar medallions together forming an open lozenge, the spandrels with hooked brick-red part- medallions, in a shaded blue border of polychrome S-motifs divided by paired hooks between brick-red linked lozenge and minor barber-pole stripes, reduced in length, differential corrosion, very slight wear and moth damage
