Description
Moghan,
Southeast Caucasus, approx. 335 x 202 cm, circa 1860, an unusually large-format village carpet with 4 x 9 Memling guls in a variety of 12 colour dyes, upper end still with original braiding, lower end barely preserved, side edges repaired, both ends as well as the left long side secured with a fabric border, considering its age good pile quality with heavily corroded brown, which has been partially repiled, some darned areas and a larger repair in the middle of the lower central field.
