A KARABAGH KELLEH
SOUTH CAUCASUS, 18TH CENTURY
Of Afshan design, the shaded blue field with an overall polychrome angular vine with palmettes, serrated floral motifs, hooked leaves and stylised flowerheads, in a golden-yellow border of polychrome flowerheads issuing hooked vine and delicate flowerhead motifs between ivory flowerhead and plain stripes, both ends and sides rewoven, overall wear, slight patching and old repair
