enclosing angular flowering vine around a shaded indigo lozenge medallion

large linked ice-blue spandrels with cartouches issuing scrolling
arabesques and flowering vine, a part medallion in the centre of each
side, in a shaded silver-grey border of meandering attenuated ice-blue
arabesques interlaced with delicate flowering tendrils between brick-red
flowerhead and serrated leaf and olive-green floral meander stripes, a
striped Soumac band at each end, some areas of wear, a very few cobbled
repairs, small area of tinting in central medallion 10ft. x 8ft.7in.

Lot Notes This remarkably beautiful silk
Heriz carpet displays an unusual deftness on the part of the weaver; where
an extra detail is required in the rug an extra knot or even pair of knots
has been inserted without any distortion of the structure.
