A HERIZ CARPET
NORTH WEST PERSIA, CIRCA 1880
The shaded brick-red field with angular floral sprays and rosettes around
a stepped shaded pink panel with pendants containing angular flowering and
leafy vine enclosing a pale yellow medallion issuing polychrome arrowheads
containing a palmette centrepiece, the golden yellow spandrels similar, in
an ivory border of palmettes and angular vine meander together with
rosettes between brick-red vine meander stripes, slight wear, ends
partially missing 13ft. x 9ft.7in. (395cm. x 290cm.)
