AH 1304 (1887 AD) dated Derbend prayer rug, published Ian Bennet's Oriental Rugs, Volume I, plate no: 445

The attribution of this prayer rug, the date of which has been interpreted as 1306 AH /1888 AD (Ian Bennett) is strengthened for believers in the Lesghi label not only by its colours but also by its admittedly superficial resemblance to a famous prayer rug first published by Roy Macey in Oriental Prayer Rugs (pl. 32), and subsequently by Schürmann in Caucasian Rugs (plate 130). Both this and previous piece are of considerable beauty and both represent the type of Caucasian rug coveted by today's collectors.
