Antique 'Sevan' Kazak carpet with a large green shield, dated 1328 (=1910), Karapapakh tribe, Borchaly / Bordjalou Uyezd


Lot Description
A Sewan Kazak rug
the shaded brick-red field with animals and small rosettes togehter with single floral panel in each corner around large green shield containing small flowerheads, floral panels and hooked bars enclosing central ivory and brick-red hooked and floral panel, in charcoal border of polychrome rosettes enclosed by arabesques between sandy-beige and ivory angular floral meander stripes, outer barber-pole and plain stripes, dated AH 1328 (1910 AD), very good condition --213cm. x 170cm. (7ft. x 5ft.7in.)
