Note: The knot density of Ganja / Gendge rugs varies between 90 000 to 135 000 knots per square meter. (60 to 80 knots per square inch) Warps are always wool and wefts are 3-4 shots of two ply ivory, red or brown wool; occasionally cotton is also used. Red wefts are dyed with madder or cochineal, sometimes mixed.
