Antique Kuba Karagashli long rug in a dark blue ground

Code: WKUKAR24

Age: circa 1860-70

Size: 115x248cm

Size (ft): 4'0"x8'2"

Structure: wool pile, brown and ivory wool warps twisted and ivory wool wefts.

Knots: Gördes (Turkish, symmetrical)

Description: : A rare type of Karagashli rug in a dark blue ground with a variety of geometric and floral elements around ivory and yellow central lozenges flanked by serrated red medallions, in a red and apricot trefoil border, between dark blue carnation and ivory S-motif minor borders.

Condition: Good shiny pile, some old repairs.
