Antique Gendje Chyragly rug in a blue ground

Code: KZAKS01

Age: Late 19th century

Size
: 135x265cm

Size (ft): 4'5"x8'8"

Structure: wool pile, wool warps (dark brown and ivory yarns twisted - "salt & pepper") and red wool wefts

Knots: Gördes (Turkish, symmetrical)

Description: The three stepped rectangular medallions arranged across the medium blue field. There is a diamond inside of each medallion surrounded by triangular devices on top and bottom. A red ground star motif main border encompasses an ivory ground inner border of the stylized dragon motifs. The field is scattered by various small tribal motifs, hooked "buynuzlu" devices and four peacock figures in red and mustard colors. Very good condition, good pile. Small repairs.
