Lot Description
A NORTH WEST PERSIAN KELLEH
circa 1800
The indigo field with an overall lattice containing flowering shrubs, in a mustard-yellow border of flowerhead and angular geometric motifs between brick-red floral meander stripes, kilim strip at one end, slight wear, corroded brown, some losses at edges
15ft. x 5ft.6in. (457cm. x 168cm.)

A similar kelleh with comparable colours but larger scale motifs is in the Burns Collection, Seattle, (Hali, 122, May-June, p.136, pl.1).
