CATALOGUE NOTE
Formerly in the collection of Emmy Destinn (1878-1930), the acclaimed Czechoslovakian opera singer. By repute, the
carpet was presented to her as a gift from Kaiser Willhelm II of Prussia (1888- 1918). The carpet was subsequently
given to the father of the current owner, and thence by descent.
