19-A DAGHESTAN RUNNER
NORTH EAST CAUCASUS, DATED AH 1269/1852 AD
The pale lemon-yellow field with an overall lattice of polychrome geometric motifs containing angular flowerheads, a small inscription upper right in the field with the name 'Abbas Kam...... and the date, in an ivory border of polychrome crab-rosettes between shaded blue flowerhead, polychrome zigzag and narrow barber-pole minor stripes, localised areas of wear, corroded brown, small scattered repairs, both ends missing a few knots but secured, both selvages fraying and beginning to loose knots
