You Want to wash your rug
Yourself:
These are the steps that you have to
take to wash your rug.
Step one:
- You have to prepare your rug
for wash.
- If you have pure silk
rug DO NOT wash it yourself! Let's professional rug dealers do the
cleaning!
- You are going to destroy it.
- If you have wool rug that
has just a little silk on it then you are OK!
Step Two:
- Vacuum your rug up, down
front side and backside. Be careful with fringes! If your rug has long
fringe, put them under the rug when you are vacuuming the top pile and vise
versa. If the fringes stock in the vacuum DO NOT, DO NOT pull them by
force. Just turn off the Vacuum Cleaner immediately and remove the fringe
one by one.
- Hang your rug vertically.
Start biting your rug gently with peace of wood or broom to remove deep dust
in the rug's pile. (Make sure you do that in open space. There will be lots
of dust.)
- After removing all of the
dust and dirt, you should vacuum again. (Step one)
- Lay your rug down on yard or
a solid ground (concrete floor) such clean garage or clean driveway not on
the dirt road.
- Test your rug for color
bleeding, before you wet your rug use. Just apply water and liquid shampoo
in small portion of the rug; use soft brush, if you see the colors are
getting mixed on your rug (Color bleeding)! STOP! Let's professional rug
dealers clean your rug. If there is no color bleeding and rug looks normal
go to the next step.
- Use only" COLD
WATER" to wet the top of your rug. Actually if your rug is not deeply
dirty, you do not need to sock your rug with water.
- Use "natural soap"
if you can not find one use vegetable shampoo or baby shampoo works. (Do not
use Strong Chemical Spot removal).
- Do not over due soaping,
Just use soft brush and wash your rug with soap and water. Repeat the cold
wash and fresh shampoo couple times.
- DO NOT OVER DUE! Wash your
rug thoroughly with fresh cold water.
- Lay your rug flat to dry.
When the top pile feels dry turn your rug over and lets back dry.
- Make sure your rug is
completely dry before you use it again.
- Do not keep your rug for
longtime more than 2 days under straight light. Straight sunlight is going
to fade your rug's color.
