KUBA RUG TYPES, THE MAP OF KUBA SUB-REGIONS
 



The rug styles of Kuba region form a separate classification group, known for variety of compositions, richness of decorations, great range of patterns.

This group includes over 30 traditional compositions of different ornamental and color designs, and they form 4 sections inside this single style group: the Northern Hillside Kuba rugs, Southern Hillside Kuba rugs, Southern Lowland Kuba (Shabran-Devechi District) rugs and Mountainous Kuba rugs.

The Northern Hillside Kuba Region rugs: Zeykhur / Seychour, Alpan, Soumak / Sumakh, Dragon Soumak etc.

The main Southern Hillside Kuba Region rug types: Chichi ("Khyrdagül Chichi" (Small Flower Chichi), "Alchagül Chichi" (Cherry-plum Flower Chichi), "Gollu Chichi"), Pirabadil (Perepedil), Zeyve, Afshan, Biliji & Lajadi, Tekye,
Ugah, Afurja.

Southern Lowland Kuba rugs include the following types: Karagashli, Shahnazarli, Sunburst Zejwa (Alikhanli), Molla Kamalli

Moutainous Kuba rugs are: Gyryz and Jek, Konagkend, Yerfi, Salma Söyüd, Gymyl
