Note: The knot density of Ganja rugs varies between 90 000 to 135 000 knots per square meter. (60 to 80 knots per square inch) Warps are always wool and wefts are 3-4 shots of two ply ivory, red or brown wool; occasionally cotton is also used. Red wefts are dyed with madder or cochineal, sometimes mixed. All Ganja rugs are made in the villages of Ganja-Kazak Region. All the yarns are Z spun.
