Antique Tabriz Haji Jalili rug

Size (ft): 4'4"x6'0"

Condition: Some small damages to the sides. One corner slighly damaged. Over all well preserved.

Design: Several master weavers from Tabriz have become known by name for the quality of their carpets in the last quarter of 19th century. Haji Jalili, from Marand town near Tabriz, is the most famous one of these masters. He owned workshops that produced small quantities of outstanding carpets with soft colors, which have been are highly sought after by decorators and collectors.

This rug with a rich terracotta field is one of the rare carpets produced by Haji Jalili.
