"Lotto" rug (kilim style) with cloudband motif border, mid XVII century, Western Turkey, Ushak Region, Ottoman Empire.


107x150cm. 500 knots/dm2. Monastery Church, Sighișoara. inv no 1020. Published in Antique Ottoman Rugs in Transylvania by Stefano Ionescu. It has the earliest inscription on a Lotto rug: "ZFR Empt: Ao 1658.. Pa Schell / Gott zu Ehren vertestierte dieses Pavl Schel 1710"
